Camera in share house bathroom: man charged

A man has been charged after he allegedly hid a camera in the bathroom of his share house in Sydney’s west and secretly filmed his housemates.

The 31-year-old will face court next week after one of his housemates allegedly discovered the camera in the communal bathroom in Auburn.

Police said a 30-year-old woman was preparing to use the bathroom in the share house on Norval Street on Wednesday when she spotted the camera, which someone had attempted to conceal.

The woman removed the camera and took it to Auburn police station, where police examined it.

Detectives went to the share house and arrested a 31-year-old man, who was taken to the police station and questioned.

He was charged with filming a person’s private parts without consent.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear in Burwood Local Court on June 28.

Police said investigations into the incident were ongoing.
